Standard Features
- The private message system in this forum works like an email box. When you send a message, even though it's been sent, it sits in your outbox until the recipient reads it and then it moves into your sent folder. This has confused some people, making them think that the message wasn't sending.
- The pm feature at this board is great - you can easily print or email your pms plus you can create folders to organize and store your pms. There is currently no limit as to how many messages you can have in your box.
- This board has a "Friends & Foes" feature to quickly contact members you frequently talk to or people you want to block talking to. I haven't explored this feature much. Please see your User Control Panel for more details.
- Another fabulous feature of this board is Bookmarking. You can bookmark a topic so you can easily find it later via your UCP.
- Polls are allowed in most of the boards. It's very self-explanatory. You'll see it at the bottom of your composition page.
Images/Attachments
You have a few options for posting images.
- you can post images the "old fashioned way" - by using the IMG bbcode in the composition page (if your image is large,say over 400x400, I encourage you to use clickable thumbnails. If you're not sure how to post a thumbnail, see my "Photobucket Help" post in the Random board)
- you can just post a hyperlink and let people go off-board to view it
- you can use the Attachment feature on the composition page. When you are composing a post, you should see 3 tabs at the bottom of the page: Options, Upload Attachment and Poll Creation. You can use the Upload Attachment tab to directly upload an attachment to the board, thus saving time because you can omit having to upload it to a 3rd party like Photobucket. Here's an example of an attachment:

Things I have added myself:
These are all formatting options when you compose a message -
- I added more text formatting features: center, scrolling text, horizontal line, subscript, superscript and strike. [note: when you use the subscript and superscript - it's still the same size as the other text. You will have to select the text and use the size box to make it smaller.]
- The mp3 code allows you to insert a url to a song you have uploaded somewhere else. I'm not 100% sure this is going to stay because it seems like it's pretty picky about where the url comes from.
- I added a SPOILER code which hides your text and reader can click open the box to read it. There is also a spoiler emoticon which is pretty eye-catching if you prefer to use it. Spoiler! :
- the CUT code works just like a livejournal cut. This is for those extra long posts. Very handy.READ MORE:
- the MATURE box is just like spoiler and cut except that it is for mature content - perhaps you've got a nudie picture of one of the stars like Charisma Carpenter's Playboy photoshoot. You can post it within this code so that people know it is Not Work Safe. Mature Content:

Spell Check
Note: Firefox users have spell check built-in. When you mistype something here, you should get a red line underneath the word. Right click and you'll see a list of suggestions. IE users can download a plug-in called IESpell. These should last you until we get it here on the board.
I will be continuously learning the admin panel and will be in contact with phpbb support to discover new features for the board. Please bear with me as I swerve down this learning curve.
