Powerful? What a lovely thing to say! That means a whole lot to me because I didn't want to ruin this song which is one of the most beautifully angsty songs ever to me.
Lyrically, John Mayer touches me in a way that no other songwriter does. And with lines like "this is the deep and dying breath of this love we've been working on" and "You try to hit me just to hurt me cause you can't understand" - the song deserves a good match. I would love to see one of the "pro" vidders (like yourself!) tackle this song in a vid because I know I could be blown away by it.
I'm always scared too that I lose focus of the storyline because you know when you get to the end of the vid and you've got just a few gaps here and there you need to find clips for but your brain is coming up with nothing?
I wondered about those quick cuts to b&w. I had seen a vid where it looked really good but wasn't sure if it would work or not for this one. I guess the tempo of the song would have worked better with a fade, you're right.
